![]() ![]() Cheers. To get started with BloodHound, check out the BloodHound docs. Only real downside I have found about using this weapon is that it only does "slash" damage, which is generally the weakest damage to targets with decent armor, which can really hurt this weapon in both scenarios, which would make it wise to have a solid and completely viable backup weapon with some blunt or standard. ![]() At which point you could turn into a tank and dump into more vig/end or you could mix a good deal of faith (and/or arcane magic) into the mix to give your character serious diversity both PvE and PvP wise. Therefore, if you are planning to follow the 125-150 meta, you should have between 30-40 levels to splash around in the end. Assuming you have been leveling Vigor and Endurance appropriately the build should be finished around RL 100-110. At around 25 str and 40 dex, this thing does a ton of damage, buff with bloodflame, which only requires 12 faith, and you have a high physical damage, high bleed procs, and some fire damage to boot. So you get high bleed without having to increase arcane at all. For my first character, which was built around this weapon and a decent shield, I had my strength in the mid 20s and my Dex around 40 and I constantly buffed this with Bloodflame Blade, which increases the bleed buildup substantially, so that's fantastic, and it also gives you fire damage, which is great. When fully upgraded scales much better with Dex, so if you are planning a Dex build you're in luck, and it works okay as a quality weapon. In my opinion, it’s a good trade off since you can use 70% of the games ashes of war while being able to use almost every type of weapon for mix ups, actually have very good range options for a melee build via bows/great bows since they scale rather well with quality, and power stance better on heavy weapons than str builds since you won’t be missing out on too much damage via 2 handing. It’s more restrictive but luckily the weapons that do scale good with quality are mostly good for their class like the Claymore and the Great Lance(which are considered to the best in their class). ![]() There is usually 1 weapon in every class where with the same investment as other pure builds, will just have a lower AR by 10-15 points (which isn’t that noticeable). It’s also a huge misconception that quality builds are “bad”, or even for for Infusions. There are tons of Somber weapons that scale with quality better than pure builds like this weapon. It’s a common misconception that quality builds are bad. The same applies if there is multiplication, done to save space if there are, say, 6 attacks in a row using the same motion value. ![]() If the motion value for an attack is listed as ""X + X"" this is done to separate individual attacks made from one input. A motion value is a multiplier to the various properties of attacks represented as a percentage (100 = 100%). Motion value is a term that is, as far as I've been able to find, borrowed from the Monster Hunter series. The motion values of the Bloodhound's Fang are 118, 142, 128 and 151 respectively, compared to the regular Curved Greatsword motion values of 107, 127, 112 and 132.Some jumping attacks of the Bloodhound's Fang have a higher motion value compared to the rest of its class. 1h Jumping R1, 1h Jumping R2, 2h Jumping R1 and 2h Jumping R2 are all affected. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below. Additionally, speed, range, recovery time and guard counter speed of Curved Greatsword weapons has increased.
